The Seven Stars Fairy Tale
The Seven Stars Fairy Tale
At the very early time there were six brothers. The youngest of the six brothers was very handsome and his name was Astar. One day Astar went to hunt. After hunting he was tired and he stopped to rest on the bank of a stream. Soon he fell asleep. Meanwhile, a beautiful maiden came to the stream to fetch water. After filling her jug with water, she noticed the Astar was lying there and fell in love with him. She continued to watch him as he slept. When the Astar awoke, he saw the beautiful maiden standing before him and fell in love with her at first sight.
Astar said:
-I fall in love with you. Come with me and get married.’
The girl answered:
-‘ I fall in love with you, too. I want to marry with you. But first I must carry this jug of water home.’
She went to home and she told her parents that she wanted to marry the Astar.
The parents understood that because the girl was in love she would not change her mind. Therefore, they took their daughter with them and moved to a distant land which name was Chapaghchur. The moment the maiden left her village, a deep sleep fell upon the young man. He remained asleep beside the bank of the stream.
Several years later, the maiden’s family returned to their old home. One day they sent the young maiden to the stream to bring water. She saw that Astar had remained on where they had parted. She called him by name, and he awoke from his deep sleep. But Astar was no longer human. He had turned into an angel. He flapped his wings to take flight, but he fell to the ground and died. Realizing that her beloved had died, the maiden’s heart broke and she died, too. Astar and the maiden were buried together.
A short time later they became stars and ascended to the heavens. When the older brothers learned about the tragic fate of their youngest brother, they died of grief. All five of them became stars and ascended into the heavens, where they were united with their brother and his beautiful bride.
If you want to see them, at night you have only lift your head and you will see all seven of them in the heavens.
